Have you seen this Easter Egg inside Influenced?

Last week I had a humbling experience. I signed up for an aquazumba class at my local gym and was convinced I wouldn't be the only 51 year old there and that for sure, it would be a fun and beneficial experience.

I was so wrong.

I brought down the average age by at least 15 years...if not more.

But OMG, it was so much fun...except for dodging the creepy old man who just floated around and watched everyone.

It totally reminded me of Eleanor from Influenced, and the time her mom thought aquazumba would be a great place for her to meet men and instead, she ran straight into the arms of the one man she did not want to ever see again...while wearing her bathing suit inside out and attempting to jump turn under the water.

Everett Malone caught her, caught her bathing suit straps and the rest is something you need to read to experience fully. BTW, Everett was there because his physiotherapist thought post knee surgery, the water would be his best friend.

Friends, the inside out bathing suit was taken right from real life. I have a black bathing suit that in the middle of my class, I discovered was on inside out and I didn't know what to do. Swim to the ladder, hop out and change or just go with it. Luckily, I was in the back row and creepy floater guy was fixated on a woman up front and I'm also sure they share my eyesight traits - blind as a bat - even juinside-outst a little bit, so that seeing said tag and seems wasn't going to be easy.

I stayed. I jumped and spun and ran under water and I left unsure if I'd ever, ever come back again.

Please tell me you have an equally embarrassing story? I think this space has had enough of mine.

Eagerly awaiting your embarrassing stories,

Holly

Reader, I believe the last time that I emailed you I said I'd talk to you soon. I mean classic ghosting technique, right? Tell you I'll call you and then disappear into the night, never to be heard from again. The truth of the matter is, I, like most of us, was burnt the heck out. Out of ideas. Out of inspiration to write. And so I'm ever so slowly dipping my baby toe back in the romance writing water. And I'd love for you to join me inside the little pond I'm building. To start, I have a...

Imagine being a romance writer going through a divorce and still having writing commitments that needed that deep, insightful and loving touch. What your books didn't need was for all the men in the book to die. Well, that's been me off and on for the past 3 years. However, I'm...
